Craftsmanship

Fine jewelry is defined not only by its design, but by the quality, craftsmanship, and materials behind it. This guide is designed to help you understand the stones and metals used in our collections, so you can make an informed and confident choice.

Diamonds

Natural vs. Lab-Grown Diamonds

Natural diamonds are formed deep within the Earth over millions of years, shaped by intense heat and pressure. Each natural diamond is unique, carrying subtle characteristics that reflect its geological journey.

Lab-grown diamonds are created using advanced technology that replicates the natural diamond-growing process in a controlled environment. They share the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as natural diamonds. Due to this controlled formation, lab-grown diamonds typically exhibit a consistently high baseline of clarity, with minimal inclusions.

Both natural and lab-grown diamonds are selected to meet our quality standards, offering brilliance, durability, and timeless elegance.

Clarity and Its Meaning

Clarity is a measure of a diamond’s natural inclusions—tiny internal characteristics formed during the stone’s growth. These features are part of what makes each diamond unique. The clarity scale indicates how visible these inclusions are, both under magnification and to the naked eye.

At the highest clarity levels, such as Flawless (FL) and Internally Flawless (IF), inclusions are virtually nonexistent even under magnification, resulting in exceptional purity and uninterrupted brilliance.
Mid-range clarities, including Very Slightly Included (VS) and Slightly Included (SI), may contain minor inclusions that are typically not visible to the naked eye and are only detectable under magnification.
At lower clarity levels, such as Included (I1, I2, I3), inclusions are more noticeable and contribute to a more organic, naturally expressive appearance.

Clarity Ranges Explained

Flawless (FL) & Internally Flawless (IF)
No inclusions visible under 10× magnification. These diamonds represent the highest levels of clarity, offering exceptional transparency and pristine brilliance.

Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1, VVS2)
Extremely small inclusions that are exceptionally difficult to detect, even under magnification. These stones deliver outstanding brilliance with only the most minute natural characteristics.

Very Slightly Included (VS1, VS2)
Minor inclusions may be present but are typically not visible to the naked eye. This clarity range offers refined brilliance while preserving the diamond’s natural identity.

Slightly Included (SI1, SI2)
Inclusions are more noticeable under magnification and may occasionally be visible without it, depending on size and placement. These diamonds retain strong sparkle with a distinct natural character.

Included (I1, I2, I3)
Inclusions are visible and form part of the diamond’s individual character. These stones reflect their natural formation and present a more organic visual presence.

Other Gemstones

Our collections may feature both natural and lab-grown precious and semi-precious gemstones, including stones such as emeralds, sapphires, amethysts, and others.

Natural gemstones are formed through geological processes over time, resulting in unique variations in color, clarity, and structure.
Lab-grown gemstones are created under controlled conditions that replicate natural growth, allowing for consistent color, clarity, and durability while maintaining the same physical and optical properties as their natural counterparts.

All gemstones are selected for their beauty, stability, and suitability for fine jewelry, ensuring lasting elegance and wearability.

Metals & Metal Treatments

The longevity, appearance, and comfort of fine jewelry are strongly influenced by the metals and finishing techniques used. Our pieces may feature various metal treatments designed to enhance durability, preserve color, and support comfortable, long-term wear — including options suitable for sensitive skin.

Our Metals

Sterling Silver

Our sterling silver pieces are crafted from high-quality silver alloys selected for their brightness and strength. Silver naturally develops a soft patina over time, adding character to the piece. Occasional gentle polishing will restore its original luster.

Gold

We use gold in various finishes, chosen for its timeless appeal and enduring quality. Gold is valued for its resistance to tarnish and its ability to retain beauty through years of wear.

Metal Treatments Explained

Rhodium Plating

A fine layer of rhodium applied to white metals to enhance brightness, improve resistance to tarnish, and provide a smooth, luminous finish. Rhodium is naturally hypoallergenic.

Gold Plating

A surface layer of gold applied over a base metal to achieve a refined gold appearance. This treatment enhances visual appeal while maintaining lightweight wearability.

Gold Vermeil

A thicker layer of gold bonded over sterling silver, offering increased durability compared to standard gold plating while maintaining a rich, luxurious finish.

Gold-Infused / Bonded Gold

Gold is mechanically bonded to the base metal, creating a more substantial and long-lasting layer that enhances resistance to wear over time.

Titanium Plating

A lightweight yet highly durable treatment known for its strength, corrosion resistance, and skin-friendly properties. Titanium plating is often well-suited for sensitive skin.

Metal Treatments Comparison Guide

Metal Treatment Durability Tarnish Resistance Skin-Friendly Notes
Rhodium Plating High Excellent Yes Enhances brightness; commonly used on white metals
Gold Plating Moderate Moderate Depends on base metal Aesthetic-focused finish
Gold Vermeil High High Yes Thick gold layer over sterling silver
Gold-Infused / Bonded Gold Very High Very High Yes Mechanically bonded gold for extended longevity
Titanium Plating Very High Excellent Yes Lightweight, corrosion-resistant
